The BBC and it's Politically Correct Tourettes Syndrome

What the fuck? Are the BBC not sure? Perhaps they are being sensitive, after all Hamas leaders are bound to re-word this something akin to innocent Palestinian gets kidnapped by the Zionists.Hamas are classed as a terrorist organisation even by the beaurocrats at the EU
Lets look at some other headlines form Google News. Note NONE use the 'apparently' quotes.
Though I can understand the BBC's caution. Below are some paraphrase's of the peaceful Charter of Hamas
"Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it, just as it obliterated others before it."
"The Islamic Resistance Movement believes that the land of Palestine is an Islamic Waqf consecrated for future Moslem generations until Judgement Day. It, or any part of it, should not be squandered: it, or any part of it, should not be given up. "
"There is no solution for the Palestinian question except through Jihad. Initiatives, proposals and international conferences are all a waste of time and vain endeavors."
"After Palestine, the Zionists aspire to expand from the Nile to the Euphrates. When they will have digested the region they overtook, they will aspire to further expansion, and so on. Their plan is embodied in the "Protocols of the Elders of Zion", and their present conduct is the best proof of what we are saying."
Update: Well as I'm sure you're aware, DrunkenBlogging holds much sway in the offices of BBC and they have removed those damned quotes that irk me so much. The headline is now Israel police hold Hamas ministerWe can all sleep safely in our beds.... until next time!

Look now! It reads : Israel police hold Hamster
Errrr, maybe not ... I think I need glasses, damn.
But there's more : Film-maker 'murdered' by soldier
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/devon/4883442.stm
Apparently when an Israeli soldier murders a Brit in cold blood not only does he get away with it its not really murder on the BBC, its "murder".
Time to send in Jack Straw I say, that'll show em.
it's strange how they never use the quotes around "militant".
i guess if the word terrorist was used, then we'd see quotes.
--------
btw wolfie, remember de menezes? He "wasn't" murdered. But when a reporter goes into a war zone and refuses to stop on requests from the army, then it is "murder".
tres strange
never could understand territorial battles, sounds more like street gangs than political powers.
OT: SouthPark have done the toons. Check out DfH.
Yeah saw that Southpark, brilliant. Plus it's a two parter so we've got another coming our way aswell.
Just to be clear, those aren't paraphrases from the Hamas Charter.
They are direct quotes.
