Meteor Hits Perth, Australia at 21:00 local time Sunday!

Which created a massive sonic boom across the hundreds of miles surrounding the area in Perth, which caused buildings to shake and caused some damage.

Still a basketball sized meteor is really quite large, they're nearly always are small fragments that burn up in the atmosphere. Most of the outter shell will have vaporised, so it was much larger on entry.
