Self-Hating Americans (Even worse than Cindy Sheehan or Noam Chomsky)

Ah damn! Didn't take me long to get worked up into a posting frenzy. Just been over to our co-conspirators at the Infidel Blogger Alliance where Krishna has posted about some rather nasty americans and their website Citizens Against The Troops.

You Rebels, You!

About 12 Shia Muslims have been killed by insurgents who broke into their homes south of Baghdad, officials say.

The victims were reported to be members of the same extended family, living in the mainly Sunni town of Latifiya, about 30km (20 miles) south of Baghdad.

"Gunmen broke into three houses in Latifiya at dawn on Thursday," Iraqi Army Capt Ibrahim Abdullah said.

"[They] took 12 males aged between 20 to 40 and put them into a minivan... and machine gunned them," he told AP. More at BBC News

Racism is bad - so is self-delusion

by Mark Styen writing for the Telegraph. Thanks Krishna109 for bringing this to my attention.
What's the deal with these riots in Sydney? You switch on the television and there's scenes of urban conflagration and you think, "Hang on, I saw this story last month." But no. They were French riots. These are Australian riots. Entirely different. The French riots were perpetrated by - what's the word? - "youths". The Australian riots were perpetrated by "white youths". Same age cohort, but adjectivally enhanced.
Guaranteed you will read the article in one gulp! Gulp away.

I took a particular liking to this bit;
These days, whenever something goofy turns up on the news, chances are it involves a fellow called Mohammed... Maybe all these Mohammeds are victims of Australian white racists and American white racists and Dutch white racists and Balinese white racists and Beslan schoolgirl white racists.
Golden material. All ye, hail Steyn! I'm not worthy! I'm not worthy! Yeah I know I'm getting a bit of Deja Vu too, but Steyn out does himself this time!

What do you want for Christmas?

I want a fighter jet, so I could invade Iran, and/or France.

Bad Ass Santas Run Amok

A gang of "Santas" cut a trail of havoc across New Zealand's biggest city in what was meant to be a protest against the commercialisation of Christmas.

About 40 men in ill-fitting Father Christmas costumes ran around Auckland vandalising or stealing property, and throwing bottles, police say.

Two security guards were injured and three of the men were arrested.

A police spokesman described it as "fairly average behaviour" from "an organised group of idiots".

The gang first drew attention when they appeared on a motorway bridge on Saturday afternoon to urinate on passing cars and smash beer bottles, police said.

They then kicked over litter bins in a public park, hurled bottles and sprayed graffiti on office buildings.

'More like clowns'

According to the New Zealand Herald, they entered a casino where several of them vandalised a giant Christmas tree in the foyer.

When one of them climbed the mooring line of a cruise ship he was ordered down by the captain and arrested.

Other Santas attacked security staff in protest and two had to be treated for injuries.

The remaining Santas entered a convenience store in the city centre and stole beer and soft drinks.

"They came in, said 'Merry Christmas' and then helped themselves," said store owner Changa Manakynda.

Alex Dyer, a spokesman for the group, said Santarchy was a worldwide movement designed to protest the commercialisation of Christmas.

Senior Sergeant Matt Rogers of the police said no warning had been received of the protest and the men had acted more like clowns than Santas.

But he added that identification of alleged wrongdoers might be problematic.

"With a number of people dressed in the same outfit, it was difficult for any witnesses to confirm the identity of who was doing what," Sergeant Rogers told Reuters news agency.

Innocent Palestinian Murdered By Israel!

One killed by airstrike in Gaza [notice not a 'militant' or a 'terrorist' just a murder of another murder of a Palestinian]
He was identified as Khaled Abu Sitta, 25, of the Abu Rish Brigades, linked to the Fatah movement of Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas.
Oh so not quite the defenseless man/woman/child as could have been implicated by the headline? What really gets my billy goat is they had plenty of room to insert 'militant' into the headline (seeing as they would never dream of saying terrorist..) It's not as if it's in doubt either; the confirmation came from the Palestinian side:
A Palestinian militant has been killed in an Israeli air strike on a car travelling in the Gaza Strip, Palestinian security sources say
And there's more!
Earlier this week four Palestinians were killed and several wounded in an Israeli air strike in the Gaza Strip.
Zionist pigs! Killing four innocent Palestinians! Except they're referring to this article.
Israel said it targeted a car carrying four militants who were on their way to launch a strike on Israeli targets.
This is business as usual for the BBC.

'The Independent' - Lying Fuckers

A more articulate me would say something like this from Scott Burgess, Britain Loses A Newspaper.

The November 2005 BBC/ABC Poll of Iraqis is here in pdf format. Scott says;

For example, in "THE WAR IN NUMBERS From WMD to the victims", readers learn that "Iraqis who feel less secure because of occupation" number 67% of the total. And yet the BBC figures (page 8) show that 60.3% feel that "the security situation" is "better" or "about the same" as it was before the war. Why is the Independent reluctant to use the latest figures? [Well cos they're lying fuckers?!]

Similarly, the Indy reports that 82% of Iraqis "are 'strongly opposed' to presence of coalition troops", while the BBC number (page 21) is about half that (43.7%). [Not even close. Lying fuckers.]

"The Iraqi people were promised a brave new world. Instead, they are living in fear"

A view contradicted by the BBC poll, which finds that 63.2% feel "very safe" in their neighbourhoods (page 22). [Fucking tossers!! Makes me so angry! I'm going to suicide attack the Indy offices any minute in the name of rationality and logic!?]

Please take the time to read the rest from The Daily Ablution.

There's also a bit on the riot incidents in Sydney aswell. No further comment!

Racism is repulsive, but so is self-loathing

If only I was able to express myself so eloquently... Any ho here's the orginal article

YESTERDAY a colleague emailed me from New York. The young lawyer - her family lives in Brighton-Le-Sands, a bayside suburb north of Cronulla in Sydney - wrote: "While I agree there is no justifying excuse for the violence and breakdown in order that occurred at Cronulla, it needs to be put in context. Unless you live in an area like Cronulla, Brighton-Le-Sands or Bondi, you have no idea what it is like to have one's suburb regularly inundated with large groups of young Muslim men from the western suburbs who proceed to shoot people [as has happened in Brighton], intimidate people, regularly threaten people within their vicinity with violence, drive around in large groups screaming abuse at people from cars with their music blaring, regularly brawling, etc."

This young woman recounted that all of the girls in her family (except the youngest) have been "subject to harassment inflicted by groups of these men - comments on our appearances, racist comments on our Australian background, unwanted touching, being followed while walking home by groups of men in cars (I was once followed all the way home - have never been so scared in my life), sexually explicit remarks while alone, with friends or with boyfriends, unwanted called-out invitations to have sex with groups of them, etc".

Someone please tell Bob Brown. If ever you needed confirmation that the Greens senator is a disconnected, fringe politician who needs to spend time in Cronulla, it came yesterday when he blamed the appalling violence in Sydney's southern shire on John Howard for having "mired the issue of racism in Australia".

Suggesting that the nation is swamped by racists, that ordinary Australians need some fine moral instruction from the likes of Brown, is just the latest adaptation of the David Williamson school of thought that treats ordinary Australians with disdain. It's a form of elitist self-loathing that gets us nowhere in explaining why thousands of people descended on to the streets of Cronulla in apparent retaliation against the attack on two surf lifesavers by men of Middle Eastern descent.

But as far as digging for root causes goes, this genre of reaction has been entirely predictable. Starting at the downright dumb end of the digging spectrum, sniffy journalists such as The Sydney Morning Herald's David Marr pointed the finger at talkback radio host Alan Jones for stoking the vigilante violence at Cronulla. Never mind that the majority of Jones's audience is older than 40 and the thugs at Cronulla were half that age.

Academic Amanda Wise from Macquarie University's Centre for Research on Social Inclusion blamed it on "John Howard dog-whistling on immigration" and "Bob Carr singling out the ethnicity of rapists". And forgetting the old adage that if you find yourself in a hole, your best bet is to stop digging, Phil Glendenning of the Catholic Edmund Rice Centre went for the Howard quintet of apparent policy neglect: "Through Hansonism, the Tampa incident, children overboard, weapons of mass destruction and the unfair targeting of people of Islamic background over issues like terrorism and Iraq, Australia's young people are growing up in a culture of fear of the other."

Racism was on the streets last weekend. No doubt about it. White supremacists alleged to have links to neo-Nazis admitted they brought in more than 100 people to join the rampage at Cronulla. Young men used their bodies as billboards to read: "We grew here, you flew here". This is racist and it's wrong. Vigilantes bashing young men and women is criminal. But grabbing hold of Hansonism every time racism rears its ugly head and tarring the whole crowd with the same racist brush gets us nowhere.

There is so much more to this than racism. And we're fooling ourselves if we pretend otherwise. Britain has a much deeper experience of cultural tension. And that experience has thrown up some thoughtful debate missing in Australia right now. Last year, David Goodhart, editor of the progressive Prospect, wrote a controversial piece called "Discomfort of strangers". It explored the tenuous fabric that binds us as a society. He pointed to the "progressive dilemma": the conflict between solidarity and diversity. He compared the homogenous nature of British society in the 1950s with the present one, where individualism and diversity have produced a very different society.

He talks about us not just living among strangers but having to share with them. "We share public services and parts of our income in the welfare state, we share public spaces in towns and cities where we are squashed together on buses, trains and tubes, and we share in a democratic conversation about the collective choices we make. All such acts of sharing are more smoothly and generously negotiated if we can take for granted a limited set of common values and assumptions."

Goodhart was hounded for suggesting that throwing people of different cultures together can cause friction. Not because of any latent racism, but because "we feel more comfortable with, and are readier to share with and sacrifice for, those with whom we have shared histories and similar values." That friction is most evident in The Netherlands and Scandinavian countries, societies that were once homogenous but recently have been confronted with immigrants from very different cultures.

As Goodhart says: "To put it bluntly - most of us prefer our own kind." Even to raise such a notion will have the less thoughtful leftists crying racism. But the sooner we recognise human nature, the sooner we can work out where to go from that starting point.

Recognising human nature means that multiculturalism, though a fine sentiment, can only work if we unite behind a core set of values. Unfortunately though, that policy has become a licence for rampant cultural relativism. We are loath to criticise any aspects of cultures (except our own) for fear of sounding terribly judgmental and unfashionably un-multicultural.

Instead, culture is talked about only as an excuse for abhorrent behaviour so that the offender becomes the victim. Last week, a convicted gang rapist claimed he assaulted a 14-year-old girl because she was not wearing traditional Muslim dress and he thought she was promiscuous. Pointing to cultural differences, the 27-year-old Pakistani-born man said: "I believed at the time I committed this offence that she had no right to say no. I believed I'm not doing anything wrong." A month ago his lawyer told the court his client was a "cultural time bomb".

If this view, that culture can be used as an excuse, represents the views of even a subset of Muslim youth, then we have a problem. If we are not talking openly about egregious aspects of some cultures (except as an excuse), we have only ended up with a bigger problem. And, to date, we have not been talking. Multiculturalism has been synonymous with a rights agenda - addressing minority grievances - rather than a framework for talking about responsibilities. The violence that has been brewing in Cronulla, culminating in the disgraceful rampages in recent days, is a pointer that if we're serious about social cohesion, it's time we all demonstrated social responsibility.

Israeli Forces Prepares to Strike Iran

I want an F16 like this one

Quite how I missed this one yesterday, I'll never know...

Israel readies forces for strike on nuclear Iran
ISRAEL’S armed forces have been ordered by Ariel Sharon, the prime minister, to be ready by the end of March for possible strikes on secret uranium enrichment sites in Iran, military sources have revealed.

Iraqis: Majority Optimistic.

I really feel happy in my life in spite of the daily death toll and have big hopes for a better future. I hope that the election passes successfully.

The 'pro-resistance' crowd are morally vacuuous monkeys.

The BBC has surveyed ACTUAL Iraqis, not the Bruschetta munching Guardian brigade.

And guess what? They are GLAD of the overthrow of Saddam's regime and OPTIMISTIC about Iraq's future. Unlike the pre-pubescent anti-war crowd. I've said time and time again, it's all very well for people to sit at their oak dining table, munching on muesli to say the War in Iraq was wrong. Where's your fucking humanity?

Riots in Sydney: This Time Whites Attacking 'Muslim' Immigrants

Mob assaults a man with beer bottles at North Cronulla
SYDNEY, Dec 11 (Reuters) - Racial tension erupted into violence on a Sydney beach on Sunday when around 5,000 people, some yelling racist chants, attacked youths of a Middle Eastern background, saying they were defending their stretch of beach.
Why? From the Australian Telegraph
The reports of women being abused for being immodestly dressed, or travelling alone, or drinking alcohol, are too numerous to be dismissed.

There is no doubt that many regular users of Cronulla beach feel, as do many Anglo-Australians (particularly women) who come in regular contact with large numbers of Middle Eastern migrants, that Australia's easy-going casual culture is under attack from young Middle Eastern males.

Weak response

THE authorities have for too long ignored such incidents of anti-social behaviour instead of adopting a zero-tolerance position toward those who claim they live by different cultural standards.

The State Government's policy of placate and appease made the police look ill-prepared and undecided in Redfern and in Macquarie Fields. Yesterday they appeared to be overwhelmed by the task they faced.

It will take more than a dose of politically correct counselling to restore harmony to Cronulla beach this summer.

Firstly dumb arse attacks like this I utterly condemn. I mean what the fuck? The guy getting viciously attacked in the photo looks like has done fuck all. What are they, animals?

Hopefully the FULL force of the law will come down on ALL of those breaking the law, be they thuggish racists or otherwise.

JAKARTA, DECEMBER 9: Volunteers from Indonesia's largest Islamic organisation will guard churches across the world's most populous Muslim nation on Christmas amid fears of terrorist attacks on those places, the group said on Friday.

Jakarta police have said they would boost security in the capital ahead of Christmas to avoid a repeat of 2000 Christmas Eve bombings on churches in several Indonesian cities, including in the country's capital.

A youth wing affiliated with Indonesia's largest Muslim group Nahdlatul Ulama, some 40 million strong, said that members would guard churches for the coming Christmas festivities and it had persuaded youths from other religions to join the project.
Well thank fuck for the youth wing of Nahdlatul Ulama!! Power to you. Now if ANYONE's going to paradise it will be these lot!

More here... Thanks to Sunny in the comments! These movements need to be highlighted, doubled and tripled. Anything that makes the world a better place is worth shouting from the rooftops.

I know, I know it's already started to happen what with the massive demonstration in Jordan over Al-Zaqawis lot, but I wanted to see if this was a trend... And I think it is. After the last week 12 people were killed in Bangladesh, and the Muslims clerics are again calling for protest against the suicide attacks. Pickled Politics had been following this backlash earlier this month.

Palestinian 'Resistance'

5 Israeli civilians dead. Bloomberg
A Palestinian suicide bomber blew himself up outside a shopping mall in the Israeli seaside city of Netanya today, killing five other people and injuring at least 50, police said.

The attack took place at 11:30 a.m. local time near the entrance to the Sharon Mall, which was the site of a similar attack four years ago, police spokesman Mickey Rosenfield said. The Palestinian Islamic Jihad organization took responsibility for the bombing.

Muslim Students: taught to complain

A conference of young Muslims played up their victimhood to an audience of political and media luminaries

by Josie Appleton

...The panels boasted a cross section of the political elite: London mayor Ken Livingstone, solicitor general Mike O'Brien, home affairs editors from the Observer and Channel Four, and deputy assistant commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Brian Paddick. Yet all the delegates would talk about was how marginalised they were.

A FOSIS survey found that over 90 per cent of students feel that the way Muslims are presented in the media needs to be changed. 'Why is the media allowed to get away with it?', asked one young man...

The students saw insult everywhere. One young woman said that 'Muslim students are marked down. If I go for a job with a Muslim name, I'm less likely to get that job. When people are political they are demonised.' Many brandished statistics as evidence of victimhood....

These students had a slanted reading of media reports. The press release for the event reported one student's comment that 'my local paper recently had a picture of Muslims praying on the front page, with the headline "Extremism hits our town"'. In the conference discussion, this report transmuted into something more sinister. 'In one paper there was a picture of people praying, and it was labelled as "extreme"', said one woman. 'Wearing a scarf, having a beard, this is seen as extreme. What are you going to do about these images?'

Some media and government figures provided voices of relative reason. Martin Bright from the Observer argued that most of the media had 'bent over backwards' to distinguish Islam from terrorism, devoting column inches to 'understanding Islam' and explaining the true concept of jihad. Immigration minister Tony McNulty pointed out, from bitter personal experience, that the media always looked for faults rather than successes - and in any case, giving everybody a good press wasn't the media's job. He also argued that it wasn't all bad for the Muslim community: 'To resist and not see progress is to belie reality.'

But the students were only talking in terms invented and popularised in the government and media. Their cries of 'Islamophobia' and 'listening to diversity' weren't born in university Islamic societies, but were thought up in the New Labour elite, and spread through institutions like the Home Office and Metropolitan Police. The way to gain the ear of authority today is to talk about your difference and marginalisation...
Muslim organisations are encouraged to stake a claim in terms of their marginalisation - all those government-Muslim advisory boards aim to 'listen to concerns', or report hate crimes. The FOSIS students were savvy about how to play their cards, with young organisers skilfully chairing sessions then knocking off media interviews. One delegate told me that the event had been sold to him as a 'leadership training session'. Young Muslims are being sucked into this way of staking their claim. One FOSIS organiser told me that: 'I don't like to play the victim card. If there is a disagreement, the only way I can convince you is to argue with you, not to put my fists up.'

Young Muslims are left unable to make a proper political argument. In the case of the Iraq war, for example, they argue not that it was wrong but that it hurt their feelings. FOSIS president Wakkas Khan said that the war 'seems to be causing more resentment among young Muslims'. Like a child threatening to have a tantrum, they tell Blair to change his policy to appease them.

In truth, the government and media don't ignore Muslim youth. They are obsessed with listening to their concerns, which is why so many media and government figures turned up at this conference...

Young Muslims can't move for microphones pushed under their noses... to find out what they really think, what is really wrong. This is antithetical to eye-to-eye political engagement. One young man noted: 'I am a passionate supporter of the EU, but nobody calls me up to talk about politics. I only get called up about Muslim youth identity. Next week there's another conference about this.' The more 'listening' conferences, the more grievances will escalate.

These young students seemed bright and keen to get on in the world, but they are being spoiled by a system that sees complaint as a basis for integration. Muslim youth would do well to break out of this poisonous cycle, and stand on their own two feet.
